The nature monument is located within the boundaries of the municipal area "Sorokinskaya volost" of the Dedovichi district. The floral complex of the nature monument "Lake Sevo" is formed by meadow and forest higher plants growing in the protected zone. It includes 281 species, 171 genera and 54 families. The area of the natural monument is 245.8 hectares.

It was declared a specially protected natural area of regional importance in 2007.
